$743,000 JURY VERDICT FOR CAR ACCIDENT INJURY–RICHFIELD MN INJURY LAWYER-CAR ACCIDENT.

A Richfield Minnesota man received a $743,000 jury verdict for injuries sustained in a car accident on Interstate 94.  The injury victim was represented by Minneapolis Personal Injury Lawyer Douglas Schmidt of the Schmidt Salita Law Team.

The man was returning to his home in Minnesota after visiting family in Pennsylvania when his van was virtually driven off the road by an SUV driven by an Illinois resident.  The Illinois driver lost control and spun out, causing the Richfield driver to be forced off the road and into the ditch.  The victim did not seek immediate medical attention.  No ambulance was called.  He was driven home by a friend.  Later, it was determined that he had sustained a severe whiplash injury to his neck and back.

During trial, Schmidt introduced evidence of a Digital Motion Xray (DMX).  This is believed to be one of the very first cases in which medical evidence was presented in a court of law using the Digital Motion Xray. The jurors later commented that the DMX was powerfully persuasive evidence that positively affected their final decision.  The Digital Motion Xray proved that there was abnormal laxity of the cervical spine that explained the client’s complaints of pain with movement of his neck.

The case was tried to a jury over the course of more than one week in a hard fought battle.  Farmers Insurance defended the case and ultimately paid the full amount together with interests and court cost.  The client posted a review in which he praised the work done by Schmidt and his legal staff:
