MINNEAPOLIS CHRISTIAN PERSONAL INJURY LAWYER.
Douglas Schmidt, the senior trial lawyer at the Schmidt Salita Law Team has encountered people with strong religious beliefs against law suits. He recently represented several members of a religious faith that are opposed to law suits-both Christian and other faiths.
He explained to his clients the facts of life. Making a personal injury claim should not have any religious connotations. In fact, the failure of an injury victim to make a personal injury claim has some serious negative religious connotations. All drivers are required by law to carry liability insurance. That is a godly concept. Providing for the sick and injured is a basic religious tenent of most religions.
All insurance companies take in premium dollars. They hold that money in reserves. Those reserves have been established for the sole purpose of providing benefits to the injury victims. That is a godly thing.
Consequently, if an injured person doesn’t pursue the benefits that have been established for him or her, they are basically making a charitable contribution to an insurance company. Schmidt says, “That is not godly. That is sinful. Going after what has been set aside for injury victims is in keeping with the basic tenets of every good religion in the world! And, for goodness sakes, don’t feel guilty about doing that.”
