It is well known that cell phone use causes distracted driving as bad as drunk driving, sometimes worse. That fact has been born out in the cases that our Team has handled recently.
Case #1: Iowa motorcycle driver is struck by oncoming van driven by lady who was on the cell phone as she crossed over the centerline and entered the lane of traffic of the motorcyclist. The motorcycle driver attempted to avoid collision by going onto the right shoulder where the collision occurred.
Case #2: Car driven by Chaska woman was struck in intersection when teenager on cell phone “ran” the stop sign, illegally entering the intersection and T-boning the car.
The Minnesota Injury Lawyers at the Schmidt Salita Law Team have handled many cases in which the at fault party was distracted by using a cell phone. In addition to those cases which resulted in a death, the Schmidt Salita Law Team has successfully represented many victims of personal injury caused by cell phone usage which did not result in death.
