An interesting new article on Minnpost.com discussing the “presumption law” a workers’ compensation claim law which covers certain “front-line” employees who were infected with Covid-19 in the workplace. The law says certain workers are presumed to have caught Covid on the job due to the conditions and nature of the job. These are workers who frequently encounter confirmed covid-19 positive individuals. These occupations include: health care workers, first responders, police officers and corrections staff. In a recent report, acting DLI Commissioner Roslyn Robertson reported that 96 percent of infected workers covered by the presumption law had their claims accepted.
