SHAKOPEE INJURY LAWYER-CHILD EYE INJURY CASE
Douglas Schmidt of the Schmidt Salita Law Team has represented many clients from the Shakopee, Minnesota area. That includes many car accident victims from Shakopee, Belle Plaine, Jordan, Prior Lake, Savage, Elko New Market, Chanhassen, Carver and nearby towns. He has taken many of those cases to trial before Scott County juries with successful results.
One of those successful cases was one where an Elko New Market girl suffered a serious vision injury, the loss of sight in one eye. The injury occurred when she was playing with other children and one of them threw a stick directly into her eye, causing injury that led to her losing the sight in that eye. The case was very challenging because the boy who caused the injury “didn’t mean to”. He was very sorry and wished that it hadn’t happened. Nevertheless, Schmidt was able to settle the case with payment of the settlement coming from the homeowner insurance company of the boy’s family policy.
Schmidt has a track record of over 6,000 successful personal injury cases. Many of those cases have been pursued against the homeowners’ insurance policy of the at fault party. Homeowners insurance provides liability coverage for the acts of negligence of the family of the policy holder both at home and, under some circumstances, away from home as well. It doesn’t provide coverage for car accidents, which is covered under the car insurance. It generally doesn’t cover business activities. There may be other exceptions as well. A good personal injury lawyer should be knowledgeable regarding the coverage under homeowners insurance policies.
