- “With tireless effort, with single-minded determination, and with uncompromised loyalty you battled one of our nation's most powerful institutions, as well as their lawyers from Minnesota's largest law firm. (They) threw all they had against us. They didn't think they could be out-worked, out-classed, and out-lawyered. What their resources couldn't beat was the power of one lawyer with faith in his client's cause, and in himself.”
- “You are not only my lawyer, but a friend. I could never have made it through all of this without your help and support. I hope our friendship does not end, even though my case is closed.”
- “We knew from the start that since our case was turned down by another firm, it would not be the easiest. You took a chance. We think much more of you than just a lawyer. We think of you as our friend. If we need help again, you will be the one we will call.”
- “We couldn't ask for a better attorney and friend. For all the time and effort you put into our case, we can't say thank you enough.”
- “You're one heck of an attorney. You come across as warm and gentle and compassionate. The jury likes you and the judge likes you a lot. You are warm and gentle to me (mostly).”
- “Schmidt's a fighter. He fights for the last dollar. He works just as hard on the big cases as he does on the small cases.”
- “He's a really good trial lawyer and certainly not afraid to take a case to jury.”
- “There's no worse feeling than being in court with a weak lawyer.
