Product Liability Claims
Every year, thousands of people are injured and killed by dangerous, defective products. The range of defective products include automobiles, food products, prescription drugs, medical appliances, chemicals, power tools, farm machinery and construction equipment, and many other products.
Under the law, the manufacturer and seller of the dangerous defective product is liable for the damages caused under product liability law.
Some of the more famous product liability cases include claims against tobacco companies, the McDonald's coffee case, the Ford Pinto case, and the Dalkon Shield (intrauterine device) cases, and the asbestos cases.
Douglas Schmidt, the senior trial lawyer at the Schmidt Law Firm, has a wonderful track record in product liability cases. He has successfully collected for his clients in cases against such giant corporations as Ford Motor Company, General Motors, Dow Chemical Company, B.F. Goodrich, and John Deere. Mr. Schmidt has been honored to be asked to lecture on the subject of Products Liability at the William Mitchell College of Law.
