Driver Distraction Causes Serious Car Accident
Statistics show the driver distraction causes 9% of all automobile accidents. The Schmidt Law firm has prosecuted many cases involving driver distraction.
Douglas C. Schmidt, the senior trial lawyer at the Scout Law firm, recalls a case in St. Paul where the driver rear-ended another car while totally distracted. In fact, the actual driver admitted that he did not see, and was totally unaware of the presence of, the car that was rear-ended until impact. Amazing, he testified that he actually felt the force of the impact before seeing the car ahead. It is difficult to imagine a more profound case of driver distraction.
